so... comics this week

fine
they decided to take all batman related titles toghether this week, wich giva me a lot to readm but leaves really little to wait for the rest of the month.

Anyway, I have a few thing to comment regarding them:ç

BATMAN AND ROBIN 6 was... uh? It felt like there was something missing (an entire issue, perhaps?). The conversation between Dick and Gordon is odd taking into acocunt there's a bleeding Robin on the floor and the comish was always wary about having little boys on the job. It's like: "Is he ok?" "Oh, yes, totally. Yep. sure" "Oh, ok, just checking" WTF?? I don't cared much about it, either, Gordon, but I'm not the law!! Perhaps I'm worng , but they are going to use the regeneration powers of the boy in this and everybody is going to be awed. bah.
Also, Jason Todd is supossed to be twenty (twenty-one at most), not 50!! Who the fuck is drawing such fugly faces?? Oh, oh, and someone sugests the Lazarus Pitt, as if... Dick is not going to use it, not only will it be out of character but Tim will come back and chocke him in his sleep. So , bad writer guy? I don't recomend it.

BATMAN 693 was... blah. Tony Daniels tries, at least we can say that. I don't like his pencils that much, neithe rhis pen, so I'm just hopping his arch will end quickly and as painfully as possible. I'm still offended at Huntress dress and the lame, lame mistake Dick makes at the end. Come on! He is new at being Batman, not at being a hero!!! Gah!!

then REd ROBIN 6. I know [info]mina_murray will say I'm biased, and perhaps it's true, but I'm so happy Tim has a proper writter... Poor Yost tries to get his title in cointinuity, giving us a hint as to where Balckest Night happened and the state of mind Tim is in after that. He is trying hard, but making mistakes. This mistakes are meant to make the plot interesting, but we have a good reason for them and for that I'm grateful.
Also, the spiderweb is tightening around the boy, quite literally, both in Gotham and wherever he is now (can't remeber if it was London or Paris or Budapest or...).
I'm liking the path in this, and enjoying the internal monologues. Tim was always chatty while he fought and now, as he is older and angsty, all this chat goes on in his head and it's kind of a good move from Yost.
Also, I like bachs pencils more and more each passign day.

And that's all. Still have to read Batgirl, but I don't think it's going to be that good. Pitty.

XDDD

Holly useless rants, Batman!

Ok, so, it's been now nearly half a year since DC decided to change all the Batuniverse completely and reshape it in a new, suposedly exciting, way. Yay... sigh.

really long rant about spandex diggers under the cut. It's spoilery for sure. )

Anyways... So, I like what they are doing in the individual titles even if I don't like what they have done as a global event.

And I just wanted to rant about it and that's all. You don't have to read it all if you don't really care about superheroes.

Ok...

You know, Comics used to be that nice place where the good won, no matter what, where evil was always overcomed even against the worst odds of all, and where people with cool powers fought each other for the craziest reasons.

Well, this december it feels like only one of these sentences is true.

In Morrisons F**cking Final Crisis (wich I'm not sure makes any sense at all) evil is suposed to be winning. Yeah, I know, things will turn out good an all, but still. I like evil to be rough and dificult to win, but I don't think I like what Morrison is doing. It doesn't feel right. Also, I'm not sure when it's supoosed to be happening. So, it's after RIP, or so its seems. OK... Yeah...

And Trinity? Even if I'm kind of liking the WTF feel of it? When the fuck is supposed to be happening?? DC tends to make little sense when timelines are involved, but that's just ridiculous.

But that's just the part that I really don't care much about. So, here come the spoilers.

THE DARK KNIGHT

YES!!

I've watched it, and it's as cool as posters as the one above promised.
Perhaps i won'T go as far as to say it's one of the best films ever, but IT IS a good film. Good script, good acting, great understanding of iconic characters and, of course, cool action scenes and even cooler gadgets.

I'm a great Batman fan since... since I have memory, really, and, of course, there are a few things I already know about the Batman universe and Mythos, as, for instance, that Batman is who he is because he has good, strong and independent supporting characters. All Batman films previous to Nolan had totally overlooked, even forgotten, that fact. In Batman begins we were given a glimpse of that. In The Dark Knight the supporting cast is given most of the weight of the plot, and the result is a complex story with lots of points of view and angst. Tons and tons of angst.

That said, let's do a more acurate review:

All in all I had a great time and felt respected both as a fan and as a comic book reader that it's more than can be said about any superhero film.

One think I really like about writters and creatives today is that they have all the tools at their hands to tease their followers and to play with their creations.

The wachosky's were the ones to start it all with Matrix: films, videogame and animation short films.

J.J. Abrahams did it with his LOST EXPERIENCE.

Kirin and Heroes, of course, is another example.

The trick is to have something solid to show and then make a lot of complementary little things that would give teh whole thing a bit of deepness but are not absolutely necessary for understanding the main product. Even if I admit that in the Matrix and Lost example understanding perhaps is not the best of terms.

Why all of this?

Because I've discovered this. And I want it. Six animation episodes set in Nolan's Gotham that tell stories about his Batman in between Begins and Dark knight. And I want them. I want them so badly...

sigh.
