Oh well, why nobody ever told me THE GLOVE made videos? Two of them?
I guess that growing up in Italy with just a small black and white TV didn't help.
Blue Sunshine was the only album from this sort-of-a-ghost group formed by Robert Smith and Steve Severin. In the last '80, there was this dude that was a friend of a friend, and he was rich. So he got Blue Sunshine from an import music shop.
I begged my friend to ask him if he could lend us the vinyl, because Fat Bob was
totally my Guru at the time, together with Mozza*.
The vinyl owner was a damn possessive person, and the loan brought some diplomatic accidents and harsh fights, but at last, we got it duplicated on a cassette! Man, I wonder where it is now, I have lost it somewhere in the following years.
Sometimes I wonder how could have been if we had the same possibilities back when I was a teenager. I mean, right now, there are very few things that are hard to find on the Net. But back then, if you were an alternative music lover, it was damn hard finding something interesting. I remember that we used to buy music magazines and share it with other people, and that often we got duplicated cassettes from friends-of-friends-of-friends where the songs were titlesless. I discovered titles and authors of many songs I loved after years...
But I digress, The Glove made videos, I was saying. And plain ugly videos, I may add! But I still find the music lovely.
Orgy:
http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=BIa_RY3KydsJeannette Landray looks a lot like the gal in
'Voyage Voyage'. I used to imagine her like a brunette with a bob haircut. Hmph! The video in my head was fair better. Theyshould have asked me, I'd have made a better work.
*They still are, by the way. This says a lot about my own maturity.
