Neil Patrick Harris speaks about becoming the host for the Emmys. Though there is a dilemma about which voice he should use for it.

The only snag I've hit so far, and it's a big one, is that my old scanner and printer aren't supported by the latest Mac software. Curses! (They're an Epson Perfection 1200 Photo and an A3 Epson Stylus Photo 1290.) They are so, so good, this is such a hideous waste! Grrr.
Well, I guess I'll have to decide if I get another A4 scanner or upgrade to an A3, and figure out what's a decent A3 printer. I'm partial to Epson, but I could be persuaded otherwise. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

ICV2 has the rundown of June's comic book titles and the vampiric one-shot has done particularly good, to be a one-shot, in an extremely number one-filled month.
A listing for the book has appeared on Amazon.ca. In related Cabin news, /Film reports that there might be a sneak preview of Joss and Drew's movie at a press only event at Comic Con.

Latoya Peterson looks at current vampire romance trends and finds that she prefers Buffy.
My laptop broke. Actually, the bit that connects to the power cord just snapped on the inside, so the laptop was fine, but all it had was thirty minutes of battery power to go on, so I had to get that fixed. It was still under warranty, but it left me laptopless and without the ability to scan comics or pretty them up in photoshop.
So, a week's delay for the end of FH and the start of OPB. I am really sorry about this, and also pretty frustrated about it, but it's really the only option at the moment.
I was shocked and incredibly pleased with the number of preorders I recieved for my graphic novel, La Macchina Bellica! 29 preorders total, mostly from the US (and strangely, many of them from Texas - a good 1/4), but I did recieve several international orders: Canada, the UK, Germany, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands!
I'm overwhelmed with joy and a feeling that maybe I can make my dream of becoming a well-known comic artist come true!
I'm going to be taking additional orders at Otakon, at my Artist Alley table L12! I made several new silkscreen prints this weekend to sell, though I didn't really get any shirts done. I'm looking forward to more silkscreens in the future! I thought I might be a little rusty, but it all came right back to me while working on it this weekend!
Also, I'll be heading over to Small Press Expo in Bethesda in late September, though not with a table. I'm going to bring some copies of my graphic novel to hand out to small publishers, like First Second, to see if maybe I can get a chance of getting my name out there more!
Overall, things are looking up!
List of Conventions I want to attend/get tables at for next year:
Katsucon (DC area)
Anime Expo (LA, CA)
Anime Weekend Atlanta
Otakon (Baltimore)
NY Comic Con
MoCCA (NY)
Akon (Dallas, TX)
Anime Central (Rosemont, IL)
Yaoi-Con (San Mateo, CA)
Small Press Expo
Of course, not all of them are possible, but I shall see. I'm trying to hit all the big cons in the US to get the biggest chance for exposure! Living in DC makes it so much easier to travel, since I'm very close to 3 major airports.

It's a review of the screener copy (which lacks Disc 4).
Title: Substantiation
Characters: Tim Drake, Jack Drake
Rating: PG-13, for self-harm, and also Timmy is disturbingly mature and morose for his age.
Note: Sequel to Testing by
http://anthraciteowl.livejournal.com/21
Thanks to
Summary: Five years after Testing, Tim decides to test himself again. And though he refuses to admit it even to himself, it is a test for someone else, too.

Title: Need
Rating: PG
Characters: Tim Drake-Wayne, mentions of Dick Grayson, Bruce Wayne, and the demonspawn
Pairing: none
Continuity: follows Rationale, found here: http://scraplove.livejournal.com/5991.h
Summary: As he leaves Gotham, Tim reflects on the relationship between him and Dick, including why and how it went to hell.
Notes: So I finally bit the bullet and read some scans of Red Robin #1, specifically the part where Tim leaves. The miscommunication there just about broke my heart. I could see what Dick was trying (and failing) to say, and exactly how Timmy was taking it. Angst-bucket!Tim came out to play. Con-crit and canon corrections welcome as always, and enjoy.

Title: Over the Edge
Rating: PG-13
Continuity: DC Animated Universe, The New Batman Adventures
Characters: Tim, Dick, Bruce, Alfred, Barbara, Jim, Renée Montoya, Harvey Bullock, mentions of Scarecrow
Warnings: disturbing themes, death... kinda
Summary: After Barbara is killed in Over the Edge, Jim Gordon takes his revenge on Bruce through his youngest son.
( Spoilers!! Summary of the relevant parts of that episode under the cut. )
Notes: My first Bat-fic--it just took me forever to type it. I got this idea during the scene where Jim Gordon first calls Bruce to tell him he knows who Batman is. It would have made just as much sense (if not more) for Jim to take out his vendetta on Bruce by forcing him into Jim's position. In the cartoon series, Harvey Bullock strongly dislikes and distrusts all of the Bat-people. Also, Toon Timmy isn't actually ten years old, but he looks like it, and it works better, so he's ten here. As always, con-crit welcome.

Title: In Touch
Rating: PG
Characters: Tim Drake, Kon-El, Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, mentions of Jack Drake, Dana Winters, Martha Kent, Jonathan Kent, Bruce Wayne, Cassie Sandsmark
Pairing: pre-Tim/Kon
Summary: Between super-teams, Tim and Kon keep in touch.
Continuity: First in In Touch verse.
Notes: I haven't found anything in canon to support or oppose the idea that Tim and Kon kept in contact with each other between YJ and the Titans. So I decided that, being best friends, they totally did. This starts almost immediately after Graduation Day. I'm not quite sure when Kon started living in Smallville with the Kents, so I'm going to assume he is there at this point. I also don't know how long the teams were broken up, so time is a little vague. Con-crit and canon corrections welcome as always, and enjoy.

Title: Acceptance
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Tim, Kon, Bruce, Dick, Alfred, Babs, the Joker
Pairing: Tim/Kon
Summary: Bruce has never liked or trusted Kon. But when Tim's life is in danger, he has no where else to turn, and Kon proves himself.
Warnings: mentions of rather brutal violence
Continuity: Fifth in Flowers verse. Other parts here: http://scraplove.livejournal.com/4428.h
Notes: Some angst for our boys this time. It's Bruce-voice this time, so it really couldn't be avoided. The violence isn't too graphic, mostly just dealing with the aftermath, so if that disturbs you skip that section. I really couldn't think of another way to get Bruce to like Kon. Also, the scene at the end is taken from the comics originally, and I just added on to it. Note: I'm fudging canon a little, and Bruce knows that the Joker beat Jason with a crowbar before he killed him. Con-crit and canon corrections welcome as always, and enjoy.
