comicbook writers are never that original but...
Reading the last Teen titans (that really made no sense whatsoever, I don't know what the writter was thinking) I came upon this pair of pages:

(the white evil martian is only in her head. Robin is not deaf yet :P)
Photobucket

That reminded me a lot of this other page here, back in the good old Young Justice days (man, how do I miss Peter David):

Photobucket

So, what the heck is that? Homage? copy? Or more likely a lazy and lousy writer?

I mean, even if the situation is really similar -the most "prone-to-get-evil" member of the group looks for Robin (whom she is not-so-secretly in love with) and asks for his help in a not quite legal operation-, Peter David had a point in saying that taking someone guilty out of prison was perhaps too black a grey. Meanwhile, Robin not wanting to forge some papers? Tim "I made up a fake uncle" Drake? It's just stupid. I don't see Tim or Bruce (or even Clark "I'm going to adopt a kid from krypton" Kent) having any problem (moral or whatsoever) in forging some papers for their martian friends. So it's out of character, to say the least.

That said, the Titans had been so bad a title since OYL that the current arc is nearly good.

Please, Mr DC, put your Monkey in any other title.
